It is developed by Rainbow studios and published by Microsoft Games. Released on May 26, 2000, the game has more refined graphics than its predecessor, Motocross Madness. IGN.com has given it a rating of 8.6/10 and the game is generally very well received.

The audio used in the game is recorded from real life sources and so adds to the realism of the game. Motocross Madness 2 features a wide range of expansive tracks that sum up to a total of 40. The players and bikes are customizable to one’s liking and so are the terrains and maps.
