Can I run it? Recommended and minimum PC Game Fast and Furious Showdown System Requirements. ‘Fast and Furious: Showdown’ is a racing video game released on May 21, 2013. The mentioned game is inspired from the very poopular Fast and Furious movie franchise. This particular installment in the game series follows the storyline of the movie, ‘Fast and Furious 6’. In addition to this, it also includes elements from the previous installments in the movie franchise. Firebrand Games were the company who developed this game. It was published by Activison. The platforms supported by the game include Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and Xbox 360. The game play is considerably similar to that used in Grand Theft Auto. A mobile version of the game based on the same movie runs parallel to this. That game is called Fast & Furious 6: The Game. It was developed by ‘Exploding Barrel Games’ and got published under the banner of the Kabam Studio. The critique received by the game was horribly negative. IGN.com rated the game as 2.5/10. The aggregating website, Metacritic shows the accumulated score for the Xbox 360 version as being 22 out of a possible 100. The PlayStation 3 version of this installment managed to get a mere 21% approval rating.
The game play showcases a total of 31 different missions. These span all across the world with locations like Germany, Hong Kong and Miami. These missions can be completed in a matter of minutes. The player has to play while being part of a team. This team can consist of Artificially Intelligent members or real ones. Challenge mode is available alongside with the Co-op mode which lasts for about 3 hours in total. Players also have the freedom to compete against the previous high scores of their friends. The game play is actually quite tricky. Once the story mode of the game is exhausted, a Challenge mode awaits those who are thirsty for more action. A few of the missions require the use of ammunition. The cars featured in the game are open for customization. The responsiveness of these cars is quite decent. The racing action stoops this game towards the arcade genre. The characters can be switched in the team modes where each one provides a different perspective; getting rid of the monotony.

Although the main plot of the game coincides with that of the movie, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are not seen to make an appearance in Fast & Furious: Showdown. The game tries to create the same thrilling and fast paced atmosphere as that depicted in the Fast and Furious franchise, but manages to create a poor mimicry. One of the missions recreates the bank-vault heist seen at the end of the movie ‘Fast Five’. The reason as to why it was hard to digest in terms of logic was because luggage weighing couple of tons gets to be hauled behind the car as if it is weightless. Most of the missions involve running away from the team’s numerous nemeses or destroying cargo. The main problem with the storyline is the plot holes and the absence of legit reason and logic. The physics engine used for the game play cannot be classed as being a good one. Additionally, the game dramatized parts feature voice acting that is generally considered offensive. Vin Diesel, one of the main characters in the franchise, does not make any sort of appearance in the game of its plot. Glitches encountered during the game play also prove to be disadvantageous. Modifications can be unlocked with the progress in the game play.
The graphics of the game are not at par with the standards set by other games released at the same time. Difficulty can be faced while distinguishing the visually depicted objects. The soundtrack consists mostly of rap songs. Dramatized scenes are featured during the game sessions. None of the actors from the movies lent their voice for the game. With so many weak spots, the game proves to be rather a nuisance. It does not fulfill its intended purpose of providing one with a leisure time. It can be said that Fast & Furious : Showdown did have potential and could have performed better if more attention to the racing had been given.
