The game features simulation racing. The game play is similar to that in the previous installments in the series. At the start of the game, the player finds himself at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi to pass the young driver’s test. This event spans over the course of two days and checks out the driving and handling skills of the player in various weather conditions. It proves to be a crash course for getting to know the rules of the sport. Once this test has been tackled, the player gets the freedom to move on to the Career mode of the game. However, if the player does not have an interest in the Career mode, there is a multitude of other modes to choose from. The Career mode consists of a number of racing events and a number of racing teams which offer contracts. One of the other racing modes is the ‘Scenario mode’. These consist of a number of challenges which the player must overcome. There are 20 different situations on the scenario mode some of which are inspired from real life situations. The Classic mode features common racing modes like Time trial, Time Attack and Grand Prix. The classic mode uses a different color palette than the rest of the game and manages to provide a nostalgic sensation. The game features the option to save the game midsession which provides one with the freedom of resuming a game from wherever he left it. This makes the career mode a tad more accessible than before. The players can also face penalty upon causing a collision during the race which can result in agitation.
