Can I run it? Recommended and minimum PC Game Crazy Taxi System Requirements. ‘Crazy Taxi’ is the first game in the acclaimed video game series bearing the same name. It features an open world in the game play. The game was developed by Kenji Kanno and the team which he was in, the Hitmaker. It was initially released in the year 1999. The game supports a wide array of platforms; Arcade, Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, GameCube, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Cloud, iOS and Android.  The PlayStation 2 and the GameCube versions of the game were both developed by Acclaim Cheltenham and the same company holds the credit for releasing them. The Microsoft Windows version was developed by Strangelite while Activision published it. Sega Studios was the one to develop the versions for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Initially, the game was released in Arcades. The Dreamcast took the responsibility of hosting the game. In the following years, the game was introduced for the rest of the platforms. ‘Sega NAOMI’ is the arcade system used in the game. Among the versions, the Dreamcast version garnered the highest amount of praise from its critics with its aggregate score being 90.2% on the Games Ranking website. The lowest amount of approval was gained by the PC version of Crazy Taxi. The PC version accumulated an aggregate score of 55.7% on Games Rankings’ site and a rating of 54 out of 100 on Metacritic. Due to its overwhelming success, several sequels to the game were developed, initiating a popular gaming franchise. A film adaptation of the game was planned but the project was then abandoned. There have been talks of renewing the project for either the big or small screen.

In the game session, players are required to transport a customer to his predefined destination in as little time as possible. The destinations’ bearings are provided to the player with the help a large green arrow mounted at the top of the screen. Stunts and maneuvers along the journey give way to cash being earned. In the general instructions of the direction, the hurdles situated in the way are not accounted for. Upon the completion of the task, the amount of the fare is added to the account of the player. In addition to this, the player also receives ratings, which depend upon how fast the task has been completed. A clock is also running during the venture. If the player is not able to beat the clock, he does not get paid as the customer ejects out of the car before reaching the destination.

The sessions can last for 3, 5, or 10 minutes, according to the player’s choice. In these three setting in which the time is fixed beforehand, the player gets the points for the length which is covered during the allotted time period. After this, no more points are earned and the car stops. The Arcade Rules allot the time period of one minute. This time limit can be stretched by doing the task quickly. Upon this, time bonus is awarded to the player. The arcade version and the console version have a certain differences between them. The Console version exclusively features the ‘Crazy Box’ which consists of a number of small challenges. While the Arcade version hosts only one stage, the Console version has an additional stage called as ‘Original’. Both of these stages are based in sunny locations. The player has the freedom to choose from four drivers with diverse and different attributes. Each driver holds his own cab. The drivers are named Axel, Gena, Gus, and B.D Joe. Sometimes, the passengers can be heard to be making some statements too.

The game features solo play only through the single player mode. The soundtrack of the game includes numbers by hit bands. These included Bad Religion and The Offspring among others. The revamped PC version of the game scrapped the previous soundtrack and scored a new with bands like Total Chaos, Pivit, and Too Rude. There is an option for the PS3 and Xbox versions to use custom soundtracks.  The graphical details of the game are not very immaculate and intricate. This was done to ensure the smooth running of the game at a fast pace. At the end, it has to be acknowledged that the game is indeed one of the hit classics and proves its mettle.
